Role	I offer services to users traditionally managed by providers I know and trust.	I validate researchers and issue them identities to grant access to services.	I manage mechanisms to enable participant SPs and IdPs to safely, and in a privacy-preserving manner, exchange information about users.	I enable researchers to log in at their own institution (IdP) and access services offered by participating federations.
Sirtfi	I can use Sirtfi to advertise that I am a trustworthy service and covered by an incident response capability.	I can use Sirtfi to increase the level of trust in my organisation and to establish a channel of communication with services to be used during security incidents.	With Sirtfi adoption I can increase the baseline trust in my federation and so improve interoperability.	Supports participating federations in their cross-border incident response.
